Internet Marketing? Together We Will Succeed On Your Own It’s Harder?

When I started John Thornhill’s Masterclass in February this year and made my start on an Internet Marketing career I made my first Blog post on 10th February I was brim full of enthusiasm and highly motivated to succeed.

Early on in the course I had a number of challenges, not least my life being totally disrupted by damp proofing and building works which I was pleased to successfully use to motivate myself.

I made regular posts to my blog, I gave a weekly review of the Masterclass topics and regularly visited other students blogs to read up on how they were doing on the course, and to make encouraging comments etc.

Suddenly, and inexplicably, I have found that my blog posts become less frequent so that in July just gone I made NO BLOG POSTS at all!! An actually I am a little ashamed to say I don’t think I have made a single comment on anyone else’s blog either!

What sort of Internet Marketer does that make me?

I suspect, in fact, that I am actually a fairly ‘typical’ (normal) Internet Marketer?

We all need a prod or a kick up the b***side (K U T B) from time to time to motivate us and Internet Marketing like all ‘one man’ (or woman) businesses need a K U T B as much if not more than most………..WHY? ………..Well, the answer is simple really. Home workers are largely working on our own, from home and do not receive active stimulation from the workplace, with ‘healthy’ competition in the office for promotions etc. There are distractions everywhere and daily innumerable time wasting ‘excuses’ to either delay starting work or avoiding work alltogether.

I believe that women are generally far better at organising their daily activities than are men. Why? Goodness knows, but they are, certainly Judith is far better than me in our house and so are my elder daughters.

Me?

Well, any excuse to ‘skive off’ and I’m gone!

Even to the extent of mowing the lawn! Though drinking a cool beer and watching some sport on the TV is more pleasant!

I’m sure many readers can associate with what I am writing here………..

But don’t worry…………………help is at hand…………..

YOU need to find a group of like minded Internet Marketers who have a desire to succeed and join up with them, and together you may find that you can become part of your own ‘work group’ of like-minded people who are striving towards a similar goal in the same work niche of Internet Marketing.

Many of whom will at some point or other in their careers have gone through what you are experiencing and may even have written their experiences and told how they solved the ‘block’ that you are going through, and they may be able to help you to get through the tough times by offering their support and encouragement.

Such support groups do exist.

One such support group is I believe the ’100 blog comment challenge’ put together by Jacinta Dean and Steve King.

It’s a great idea and I’m pleased to have been invited to take part. The invite could not have come at a better time for me and will re-motivate me in my desire to become an Internet Marketer AND maybe even more importantly will also give me the opportunity to help others in some small way or other.

I should be delighted if you would tell me what has been your greatest challenge and how you have overcome the challenge.

Or, if you have a particular challenge currently and are looking for assistance in overcoming it?

Maybe, just maybe, someone reading your comment has been there already and can help you overcome it.

There is a strength in numbers, and we all need it every now and then.

Good luck all and I look forward to visiting your blogs soon.

With special thanks to Mandy Allen and Barry Wells for telling me of the challenge.

Richard

House Moving – the last time (for now)

Hi all,
Thanks to all recent visitors to my blog and the comments left on my 100 blog comment challenge blog.
I have enjoyed visiting other contributors, and will get to visit all contributors eventually.
However, i wont be doing this for a couple of days as I am moving house this weekend!!
Aargh, the stress!
So forgive me for lack of action as i may be unable to get on line for a few days.
Actually after we have finished the moving, we intend to take a few days off to unwind as the last few weeks (months) have been extremely stressful for us. Though we have to go visit Judith’s mother who is not well at all following a Brain tumor Operation last year and we are told that the tumor has grown back and they can’t operate again, so we want to spend time with her.
So. as you like my videos, here is some great advice that I found on You Tube. I wish i had the luxury of taking it but it has reminded me of what I should have done!!

I hope you found that good, a different type of goal setting but it’s all the same really isn’t it.
MAKE A PLAN, WRITE IT DOWN, AND FOLLOW IT THROUGH
So, have a great day, and I will speak to you soon

Richard

AND NOW FOR A FANTASTIC VIDEO some mothers do have them – frank spencer at his best

100, no 110, blog comment challenge.

Hi all,
Another day, another post!!1!!
We are now up to 85 bloggers taking part in this amazing challenge. It’s fascinating to see how this idea has gripped internet marketers around the globe

I have updated the list of contributors at this page

http://richard-davy.com/contributors-to-the-100-blog-comment-challenge/

I was very busy yesterday as we are in the process of a house move, which if anyone has experienced it recently is one f the most stressful times imaginable. Throw into the mix 2 boisterous children wanted to go to the beach, or just wanted my time, well you have a recipe for stress!!!!!!!! How long till the School Holidays are over? So yesterday I have only visited 1 blog, very poor and shattered my goal target of 4 blogs a day but honest I didn’t have time or energy left by the time one of older daughters said ‘Dad, can you help me with ……..? as they do and it takes a harder heart than mine to say ‘No!’
I was disappointed to only receive 2 visitors to my comment contribution yesterday but they were both valuable contributors Stuart Turnbull (yes the Stuart Turnbull of John Thornhill Masterclass fame) and Dino Vedo From East Lansing Ml (is that Milwaukee?) who describes himself as a Entrepreneur, Affiliate, Online Marketer. Check him out Nice blog and looks great info too.

To be continued…………have to go give the kids breakfast

100, no 110, blog comment challenge.

Hi all,
Another day, another post!!1!!
There are now 78 bloggers taking part in this amazing journey.
I have updated the list of contributors at this page

http://richard-davy.com/contributors-to-the-100-blog-comment-challenge/

I have visited 6 blogs today BUT only commented on 3 so far as I found them so interesting! On one blog in particular

http://www.jasonser.com/611/bigger-life-most-powerful-life-changing-inspirational-quote/

The post and the comments just got me thinking and distracted me so much, I failed to post. The only quotes I could think of were by Winston Churchill and they are
1. ”Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”

2.”Success is going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiam.”
Winston Churchill

3. ”Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Winston Churchill.

But I couldn’t make my mind up which was the most inspirational!?
What do you think?
And on another

http://sallyneill.com/interviews/

I listened to Sally Neill’s interview with Dave Walker and found it to be really superb. Sally Neill is a very inspiring and I just love the sound of her voice too! Very cool!

I have received visitors from a new area too
Students of Mark Tyrell and from Mark Tyrell himself
Now, I don’t actually know who Mark is, I’m that new to Internet Marketing, but I am sure going to take a look at his blog now.

So, already this project is showing some interesting traffic isn’t it?

This is a short update tonight as I am bushed though I will leave you with a little music to soothe the soul:
THE MOST RELAXING MUSIC IMAGINABLE – PositiveChillout
it can’t be that bad it has been viewed 6.6 million times!!

Good night and God bless you

If we hold on together

Here is an inspirational song for you sung by the great Diana Ross

If We hold on together

So, while you’re listening to the lyrics of that fabulous song, an update to the blog challenge.
Having completed my (self imposed) blog hopping to 4 blogs i can now tell you who i’ve visited today, and the links to their pages.

57. Sally Cevasco
http://www.moremoneywizard.com/mustang-sallys-hot-im-tips

http://jeremiahcarstarphen.com/successblog/are-your-weaknesses-defeating-you.html

60. Eamon O’Keefe

http://eamon-okeeffe.com/affiliate-internet-marketing-10-articles-challenge/

Just as yesterday, I am learning a lot from these visits to other bloggers.
Surely, this will help me develop my own style?
And move my business forward?
Take me past the procrastination and distraction that is all too easy to fall prey to, and concentrate on the business in hand, and it appears that most Internet Marketers have endured at some stage, until they see the light.
I visited a variety of blogs today, and am thoroughly enjoying this activity though it is VERY time consuming which is why I am starting with the latest added contributors first as I hope that there will be less comments to read!! and be distracted by!

Of course, I have made a point of Tweeting every blog post and also ‘following’ my new friends.

1. I have learnt a method to use to simplify writing articles with Eamon O’keefe. As I have yet to write any Articles for publication this is something I MUST do so I need to Write a Plan down for this action too.

2. At Jeremiah Carr Stephen’s site I found I am a true Gemini as I have a multifaceted personality and that I shall have to CONTROL this more to move my business forward.

3. On Lorina Noble’s site I confess I was a little depressed after reading her assessment of the death of the Middle Classes of America, though what is happening in the USA is occurring here in the UK also, but I cheered myself up by listening to Diana Ross singing the beautiful song ”If we hold on Together” which I have embedded on my blog here

http://richard-davy.com/if-we-hold-on-together/

4. Finally today I called to visit Sally Cevasco who has given me some Hot Internet Marketing tips, including a link to a tool called the headline analyzer
This free tool will analyze your headline to determine the Emotional Marketing Value (EMV) score. As you know, reaching your customers in an deep and emotional way is a key to successful copywriting, and your headline is unquestionably the most important piece of copy you use to reach prospects.

Your headline will be analyzed and scored based on the total number of EMV words it has in relation to the total number of words it contains. This will determine the EMV score of your headline.

In addition to the EMV score, You will find out which emotion inside your customer’s your headline most impacts.

So all in all a very valuable time spent blog hopping, or oil rig hopping as Alex Jeffreys calls it.

I hope I have in some way helped you today ………and………

If you enjoy my offerings I should be delighted for you to share them with your friends……….

If you found this article useful please leave a comment and share it with your friends by clicking the buttons at the top or bottom of the page.
Thank you.

Till the next report, keep safe

All the best

110 blog comments challenge Here is my Progress Report

Hi all,

Before I get to today’s Video -

NOTE – I think I should try to make you smile or laugh today!
here is Tim McGraw – Just to See You Smile

I have decided I am going to give you a rundown of my progress on the 100 blog comment challenge. In my post yesterday I stated that it was my goal to try to visit 4 blogs a day

So far, on day 2, I have visited and commented to 8 contributors to the blog challenges’ blogs, and in return I have received 10 comments on my blog, though the comments says 16, 4 of those 16 are my replies!!

So I have achieved my goal so far…………..  but can i maintain this momentum?

Of the blogs I have visited and added to my list of internet friends, in no particular order so don’t get upset please, I found this incredible lady

1. Cheryl Ragsdale -

http://thatgirlisfunny.com/2010/02/how-boxing-and-martial-arts-landed-me-on-the-cover-of-50-athletes-over-50-teach-us-to-live-a-strong-healthy-life/

I found this to be a great post, Cheryl is well established blogger not to mention a boxer and martial arts expert, with a sophisticated blogsite (well I think so but I’m no expert, of course) She is a vivacious woman who looks fantastic and is featured in a new book for the over 50′s (like me!!). but while I was on her site I found Cheryl’s About me page and Cheryl gave me permission to reprint the following

http://thatgirlisfunny.com/about/

10 ways to build being happy and having fun into your daily routine

1.   Find humor in difficult situations – it’s always there.
2.   Spend time with people who laugh WITH you, not AT you or AT other people.
3.   Let some of your friends be different from you.
4.   Get to know people who willingly take risks.
5.   Stop complaining. Just give it up. Stop doing it.
6.   Spend less time gossiping about other people.
7.   Make yourself laugh…even if no one else is around.
8.   Set some new goals that aren’t work related.
9.   Do something that makes someone else laugh.
10. Do something fun or funny every day.

Cheryl Ragsdale

Like most women, I (Cheryl) have my different moods.  With that in mind, I (Cheryl) have three different categories of posts.

* Funny – like haha, chuckle, chuckle
* Mellow – like oh, that’s really insightful. She’s so wise.
* Grunge – my wilder side.  A nod to the fighter in all of us.

so I suggest you take a look at Cheryl’s site you are sure to find something of interest!!!!!!!11

and motivational too!

But remember you heard it here!!!!!!!

Cheers

Richard

the funny bit comes later, I’m knacked and off to bed!

I hope I have in some way helped you today ………and………
If you enjoy my offerings I should be delighted for you to share them with your friends……….

110 comment challenge- make a 30 day plan

Hi all,
In my post for the 100 comment challenge I confessed to being a bit slack and de-motivated during July……….gulp!………..but it was true.
Why?
Well, I have had a few health issues since March and coupled with that my business activities had hit the skids as a result of the downturn in the economy in the UK.
This resulted in me simply losing confidence in my own ability to do just about anything.
I found myself starting projects with enthusiam as usual, working hard to get them going but finding that I was getting so far and inexplicably just leaving them uncompleted when a short (hard) push would take them to the final stage.
The more I did I found that the worse it became and I have been quite difficult to live with recently becoming short(er) tempered and irritable and lacking concentration.
This actually frightened me as I could see my desire to make Internet Marketing a new start and hopefully an ongoing income source for me and my family who are THE most important part of my life and I love dearly…………….disappearing before my eyes…………….
Suddenly, though motivation to get cracking again has been inspired in me by the 100 comment challenge with a short message from my friend Mandy Allen (God bless her) telling me about the 100 comment challenge and after thinking and procrastinating for awhile I received a message from my friend Barry Wells (God bless him also- been through a lot more than me I know) I have joined in the 100 comment challenge.

I am unashamedly decided to USE The challenge to remotivate myself, as it will require me to VISIT and MAKE WORTHWHILE meaningful comments on OTHER people’s blogs in order to complete the challenge.

So, I have made a plan…………………which I am going to write down and place on my PC screen

It is a short 30 day plan

1. To visit and comment on AT LEAST 4 INTERNET MAKRETING related blogs A DAY.

(short break to give 7 year old something to eat -who said ‘I’m hungry’)

- a reality of life working at home in the school holidays!

Why only 4 blogs a day?

Not very many is it really?

Well, look at it this way?

To visit someone’s work and get a proper FEEL for what they are writing about and trying to portray is not something that can or should be done in a couple of minutes (well not by me anyway). If they are doing the job with care and passion they DESERVE more than just a cursory look out of respect if nothing else.

So each visit will take me around 30 minutes to 1 hour initially probably AND THEN I have a comment to make too!

Okay, a subsequent visit which I hope to also make will take less time and the comments can be more simplified.

I think that I can manage around 2 to 3 hours a day for this, some days greater, some days less.

But, I shall record this in a diary and try to publish it here too.

So, plan made ALL I have to do now is implement it!!!!!!!!!!!111

time for ACTION

That is the hard part!

Especially as it has taken me 30 mins to write this short post

and now for a little related music

today is the turn of Colin Hay -Waiting for my real life to begin

The song is very well written and seems to be very personal to him. It is about the tine he left Scotland to move to Australia years ago. At the time the mode of transport was by ship, and as he was on the ship with his family he was “waiting for his real life to begin”.

The idea was thought up between Jacinta Dean and Steve King, both of whom are former students of John Thornhills Masterclass. However, you do not have to be a Masterclass student to join in, all you need is a BLOG.

So, If you would like to contribute to it and would like to add your details to this page get in touch and let me know and i will add the permalink to your chosen post below, but before you do I recommend that you install the following Plugins:

DoFollow, CommentLuv and KeywordLuv

It is also recommended that you install the following plugins:

AddToAny: Share/Bookmark/Email Button, this will enable you to bookmark the blog posts that you visit.

WordPress Thread Comments: will allow you reply to comments, and it sends the Commentator an email with your reply.

Subscribe To Comments: This plugin will send you an email for every follow up comment is left for the posts.

Most of these plugins can be installed through your admin panel, however for KeywordLuv it is better to visit the site and follow the instructions.

Even if you don’t have your own blog you can still be a part of this exciting idea by just visiting the blogs listed below and leaving a comment for them, you could also click on the bookmarking links and send a link to your favorite sites. I know that everyone will appreciate it, and just think of the knowledge you could gain.

Alittlefun Dutch Marketing at It’s Best !!!

A good friend me the following link in an email today, and as I thought it was quite amusing I decided to share it with you all.

Enjoy.

*HEMA* is a Dutch department store. The first store opened on November 4, 1926, in Amsterdam.. Now there are 150 stores all over the Netherlands.

Take a look at HEMA’s product page – just wait a couple of seconds and watch what happens.

*DON’T* click on any of the items in the picture, *just wait*. This company has a sense of humour and a great computer programmer, who has too much time on his hands.
